SCHB Discuss Business True Stories Edition

Join us for an SCHB Discuss Business True Stories Edition this Tuesday February 22, 2022 @7pm on Zoom featuring Marc Deshusses & Kobe Nagar of 374 Water Inc. as they present Going Beyond the State of the Art: The Story of SCWO and 374Water with an introduction by Jim Skinner, SCHB Chair.

->374Water is a social impact, cleantech company dedicated to the commercialization of supercritical water oxidation (SCWO). It was co-founded by Kobe Nagar and Marc Deshusses. SCWO is a groundbreaking technology for sustainable waste treatment with resources recovery at the nexus of water, waste, energy and food.

->In this presentation, Marc and Kobe will discuss the development of the SCWO technology, present treatment data including destruction of emerging contaminants such as PFAS, and discuss the path, hurdles and lessons learned going from an early business idea to a publicly traded company.

->Kobe Nagar is the CEO of 374Water. He has 20 years of experience in the renewable and cleantech industries and successfully scaled innovative technologies from concept to commercialization. His current passions are his family, coffee and keeping our water clean. Marc Deshusses Head of Technology for 374Water and leads the efforts in deploying the technology in less developed countries, where sanitation is lacking. He is also a professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Duke University. His current passions are sustainable processes, and self-sanitizing toilets.

Marc Deshusses is the co-founder and Head of Technology at 374Water. Marc is a pioneer researcher and entrepreneur. His work on biological filters for air pollution control has resulted in their widespread use for odor and air toxics control. His current work on novel sanitation technologies is breaking new ground in low cost decentralized sanitation.
