Please join us this Friday evening Jan 7, 2022 07:00 PM Eastern Time (US and Canada) for SCHB Entrepreneurs’ True Stories of Sucess featuring SCHB member, Dr. John Gontarz, as he shares his tales of obstables and growth: How solving a personal tartar problem became a business.

1962 – 1966 New England Nuclear Corporation

Technician: Synthesis of C-14 and H-3 labelled compounds for scientific and metabolic studies

1970 – 2000 ICI Americas

Research Chemist, Development Superintendent, Surfactant Plant Manager, IT Manager.

Developed commercial route to the novel pyrethroid permethrin. Developed novel drug candidates. Managed team of engineers introducing new products into ICI plants. Developed technology to manufacture isosorbide. Managed 8 independent surfactant plants manufacturing over 500 products. Introduced Statistical Process Control into batch operations to reduce in-process testing and improve product consistency. Managed a team of IT professionals through the successful implementation of Y2K solutions.
