SCHB Speaks Out on SBIR – July 2009

Download Letter from SCHB Councilor to the Chair of the Senate Committee on Small Business

Also, we sent our members the following News Note on July 20th, 2009:

Dear SCHB members,

I urge you to contact your US Senators and Representatives to support the Senate version of the SBIR reauthorization.  The House version changes the program significantly, reducing the number of SBIR grants by more than half and extending eligibility to venture capital firms with few limits.   I feel that this will be a major disadvantage to our members. The Conference Committee hearings are in progress now and will be complete by July 31.  Your input is needed now.

Attached is the letter that I have written to Senator Mary Landrieu, Chair of the Senate Small Business Committee.  Please feel free to use any portion from it to communicate with the U.S. Congressional  Representatives or Senators from your state, particularly if they are members of the small business committee.  The links below are for members of the Senate and House Small Business Committees.

Thank you for your input.
