DENVER TECHNICAL PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

At the bottom is a summary of the SCHB Denver Technical Program and Special Events. All SCHB programming (Sunday-Wednesday) is in the Colorado Convention Center, Room 205. SCHB’s Sci-Mix poster session is in the Convention Center, Hall D, and SCHB’s Executive Committee meeting (open, all are welcome to attend) and Social/Reception (with BMGT) are at the Cactus Club, 1621 Blake St.

To prepare your meeting schedule, go to www.acs.org/ and click on SCHB when you get to the Denver Meeting On-Line Technical Program. You can also find Denver meeting information, including the SCHB August 2011 Small Chem Biz Newsletter, at www.acs-schb.org/

If you cannot attend all of the SCHB technical sessions, several are being recorded by ACS for viewing after the meeting.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED IN DENVER

SCHB needs your help in Denver. Can you volunteer to take a half day shift and be a “greeter” at one of SCHB’s sessions? SCHB will have a literature table and bar code scanner at our room, and will collect business cards at each session, drawing one winner at the end for a 4 GB USB drive with SCHB’s “elemental” logo. Greeter duties include: welcome attendees, scan badges, collect cards, distribute/explain literature, and whatever else you can do to promote SCHB. You can still attend the session and see/hear the presentations, but you don’t have to do anything with the projector or microphone – just be the “front end” to meeting attendees. If you volunteer for a session, you will receive a SCHB 4 GB USB drive. To sign up for a session, see the epitome below and contact SCHB Program Chair Joe Sabol at program@acs-schb.org with your time preference.

EXPO BOOTH UPDATE

SCHB will have booth 1730 in the Expo. Can you volunteer to take a shift for few hours and be a “greeter” at SCHB’s expo booth? SCHB will have literature, poster, and bar code scanner and will collect business cards and draw one winner each day for a 4 GB USB drive with SCHB’s “elemental” logo. All you need to do is to greet attendees, scan badges, collect cards, distribute/explain literature, and whatever else you can do to promote SCHB. It’s also good for your networking, as you can explain what you do and why you are a part of SCHB. If you volunteer for a three hour shift, you will receive a SCHB 4 GB USB drive. To sign up, contact SCHB Membership Chair Ankush Argade at membership@acs-schb.org with your time preference. Expo hours are Monday & Tuesday 10 AM – 6 PM and Wednesday 9 AM – 1 PM.

If you prefer to have your own booth, it’s still not too late. To take advantage of the special “Small Chemical Business” rate of $500 for a standard booth, contact SCHB Treasurer David Deutsch at treasurer@acs-schb.org ASAP. This is new booth rentals only, fewer than 50 employees, and you must have liability insurance per ACS regulations.
